Annual Business Meeting 2015

Breakfast was served at 7AM. 

Minutes:

1.   The meeting was called to order at 7:10AM.

2.   The minutes of 2014 Annual Business Meeting, June 9, 2014 were approved unanimously.

3.   Business arising
a. Canadian Leadership Symposium at NAMS Annual Meeting: Dr. Elaine Jolly felt strongly that an one hour and 15 minutes meeting would not require two organizations to do the planning.
b. Speaker Registration Fee for the Canadian Leadership Symposium at NAMS: Dr. Yuen felt that if the speakers are not attending the meeting, the registration fee should be waived. Dr. Jolly will talk to NAMS to discuss about the above issues. 

4.   Financial Statements from Dr. Yuen
2014 Income Statement and Balance Sheet were briefly presented and approved.

Dr. Jolly briefed the above upcoming conferences and stressed the significance of SIGMA’s hosting of the IMS 16th World Congress on Menopause in Vancouver, 2018.

6.   Executive Director Report
a.   SIGMA membership: there has been a significant increase in membership enrollment, probably due to the attraction of the 2nd Annual Conference in Toronto.

b.   Staff changes: Lini Qiao is back from her mat leave and she will be working full time.

c.    Relocation: Vancouver office has been re-located to the ground floor from the second floor.

d.   Capital Equipment Acquisition: A new label maker was purchased, making the printing of name tags, and shipping labels easier. A new computer will be purchased to replace the old PC desktop.

e.   IMS 15th World Congress on Menopause in Prague, September 27-30, 2016
SIGMA is planning a group travel to Prague with reduced airfare and registration.  Please email us if you are interested (sigmamenopause@gmail.com)
SIGMA is planning to seeking support to sponsor 10 young menopause scholars to attend the conference. Details forthcoming.

f.    IMS 2nd Regional Conference in Taipei, December 4-6, 2015
